SuriMarine is pleased to announce the appointment of Laquisha Lont as Head of Local Content and Training Services, strengthening the company's capacity to support meaningful local participation across Suriname's growing offshore energy sector.
In this role, Laquisha will lead the development of SuriMarine's local content and training services, with a focus on workforce development, supplier development, capacity building, community engagement and measurable local economic participation.
As Suriname enters a defining phase of offshore development, local content is about more than meeting commitments. It is about building the capabilities, businesses, talent and partnerships that enable Suriname to participate meaningfully in the value created by the sector.
Laquisha brings a multidisciplinary background spanning business development, SME development, capacity building and stakeholder engagement. She is the founder of L4 Inc., where she has supported and coached more than 50 Surinamese SMEs, and has been actively involved in initiatives connecting young professionals, businesses and the emerging oil and gas sector.
Her leadership and engagement across platforms including VSB Young Management, JCI and SEOGS have further strengthened her understanding of Suriname's private sector, professional networks and evolving energy landscape.
At SuriMarine, she will bring these perspectives together to develop structured, measurable and sustainable local content and training solutions that create value for clients while strengthening opportunities for Surinamese talent, businesses and communities.
We believe the long-term success of Suriname's offshore industry will be measured not only by production, but also by the capabilities it builds, the businesses it strengthens and the opportunities it creates locally.
We look forward to having Laquisha lead this important area as SuriMarine continues to contribute to the development of a stronger, more capable and locally connected offshore industry.
Welcome to SuriMarine, Laquisha.
