A new supplier to Suriname's energy sector registers in at least three places, and each one asks for something different. Do them in this order.
1. Staatsolie, through SAP Ariba
To supply Staatsolie or its subsidiaries directly, create a supplier profile in its SAP Ariba portal and upload the documents it asks for. Staatsolie's supply chain team reviews them, may send a questionnaire, and issues a vendor code if approved. A vendor code puts you in the system; it does not invite you to bid. Open opportunities are published separately and each carries its own instructions. Become a Staatsolie supplier
2. The Suriname Supplier Registration Portal
Run by Staatsolie's local content function, this portal is a directory of suppliers for the whole sector, including the operators and their contractors. Registering makes your company findable and gives you updates on tenders and projects. Supplier Registration Portal
3. Each operator and main contractor
TotalEnergies, APA, Petronas and the contractors building their projects each run their own supplier registration and prequalification. Expect to repeat the exercise for each, in their format.
What they ask for
The documents overlap, so prepare them once:
- Company registration extract (KKF) and tax registration, or your home-country equivalents if you register later
- Ownership and directors, with identification
- Financial statements for the last two or three years
- HSE policy, statistics and certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 where held)
- Insurance certificates
- References and a track record for the goods or services you offer
- Your local content position: what you will hire, train and buy in Suriname, and with whom
What decides whether you are invited
Registration gets you into the database. Invitations come from being known: a buyer who has met you, seen you at SEOGS or a supplier day, and has a local contact who answers the phone. That is the part we do. Talk to us
